Activities in the area
Judziki village is just 7 kilometers away from Ełk city, located by the river and lake of the same name. The city has its history dated back to the Middle Ages. Formerly, on the island there was a Teutonic Order castle. The area surrounding Ełk river was inhabited by Lendians from the Yotvingians tribe. You can still find some relics of their culture – embankments and monumental knolls.
In the city You can spend a pleasant time in many interesting places, like numerous restaurants, pubs, cafes or during many events, exhibitions and concerts organized on the city beach or in the concert hall of Miejskie Centrum Kultury “Zebra”. For horse riding enthusiasts we recommend Krzysztof Szmidts Horse Riding Center.
For nature lovers our surroundings have to offer many wonderful sights. There are plenty of untamed forests and lands, You can find many snug places, like valleys and hills (including Yotvingians knolls). Everything is surrounded by tons of bigger and smaller lakes, by which You can rest and swim.
Walking in the woods can result in meeting some wild animals, like deers, mooses, wild boars, roe deers, foxes and plenty of birds, like storks, herons, cranes; water birds: swans, ducks, grebes, cormorants and birds of prey: ospreys, falcons, buzzards or even an eagle. On many of our wetlands You may come across beaver lodges and dams. If You’re lucky, You can meet mister beaver himself – about six kilometres away from our village there is an animal reserve called ‘Ostoja Zwierzyny Chronionej Bartosze’. Mother nature will provide You some natural sweets, like raspberries, nuts, blueberries and blackberries.
